The Blonde Don meets Don Omar!

Rolling Stone can exclusively announce that Don Omar will bring Machine Gun Kelly onstage during a special performance of “Danza Kuduro” at Thursday’s Premio Lo Nuestro.

“Seeing my song go viral in MGK’s voice absolutely blew my mind,” Don Omar tells Rolling Stone in a statement. “It’s incredible to see how music can transcend generations, genres, and languages.”

The performance will be part of a medley of hits from the reggaeton legend as he receives the Global Icon award at the Univision awards show. Also joining him on stage will be Brazilian star Anitta and Puerto Rican duo Wisin y Yandel.

The MGK-Don Omar moment comes several months after Machine Gun Kelly went viral for his rendition of Omar’s collab with Lucenzo during a music festival in Spain. He later performed the song again in Mexico.

“I was out dancing in Spain the night before my festival performance and Danza Kaduro came on, it was the first moment of the night that everybody sang a song word for word and got lost in the vibe,” MGK tells Rolling Stone. “I woke up the next day and was like, I’m going to sing this and recreate that moment for my first time performing in Spain.”

“That song brings people together,” he adds.

After sharing the cover on Instagram last year, MGK received a co-sign from Don Omar himself, who wrote, “🤟🏾🔥.”

Along with the hit medley featuring MGK, Omar is set to perform his recent single “Sandunga” with Wisin y Yandel.

“I feel extremely honored to be able to share the stage of Premio Lo Nuestro with my brothers Wisin and Yandel, and to know that my music continues to resonate around the globe and with new generations, thanks to artists such as Anitta and Machine Gun Kelly,” said Don Omar in a press release.

Machine Gun Kelly spoke to Power 106’s The Cruz Show about working on his Spanish pronunciation in 2016, saying he and Camila Cabello “spoke Spanish” together after collaborating on their song “Bad Things.” “My Spanish is getting better. I have more motivation now,” he said at the time.
